I don't know what possesses me to paint. It always takes longer than I intend and is a ton of work. I have wanted to repaint my kitchen for almost 4 years now (pretty much every since I first painted it and realized it was a much too sunshiney yellow instead of a beige yellow). I was inspired by Whitney's house and copied her colors very similarly (eggplant dark purple and sage green), I never would have been so brave if I hadn't seen it first. I still have touch ups to do, but I am loving it, much easier on the eyes than that horrid yellow. I didn't realize how much I didn't like it until now.
I have recently painted my hall bath with a fabulous chocolate brown and a doggy theme for the boys, and I painted my laundry room Birdbath gray (a Martha color). I love them both.
(I thought I could rotate the picture on the blog site, but I can't, but it still serves the purpose).

Love it! It think dark colors look so great in a kitchen. I cannot believe you find the time to paint with your boys and working full time. You're amazing!

Good for you! I will have to come see the bathroom. I would love to do Eli's room in a dark brown and light blue to sage green!
