Happy Birthday Mark
Happy 35th to Mark!!! (his birthday was the 19th, I'm a couple days behind).
Here are 35 things about Mark:
1. He is a hard worker, and I always knew that he would do whatever it takes to support our family, whether it was making squat waiting tables at Cracker Barrel in Tucson, or going back to school last year to start a new career.
2. He loves his '67 mustang. A lot, but not more than me.
3. I appreciate that he doesn't have to watch sports. He played sports in high school and enjoys watching his football team and tennis, but he says he would rather spend the time with me. So thankful he feels that way!
4. I also appreciate that his "wind down" time after school/work, is to be home and play with the boys. I have friends at work whose husbands don't want to have to take care of kids when they come home. I greatly appreciate that he finds being with me and the boys relaxing.
5. He makes the best garlic toast. Ever.
6. He's a great cook from his days in Spain. His roasted red pepper sauce is phenomenal.
7. Along those lines, it's nice that our roles are very fluid, we trade off on the cooking and childcare responsibilities as needed. Except cleaning, still hasn't caught onto that fully.
8. He is fairly handy and can take care of the cars and home stuff that I am clueless about.
9. He always "knows a guy." He seems to know everyone.
10. He is patient with me. Although he would say that I don't do anything that requires his patience, I do, and he is.
11. He has great stories from growing up on the Ranger station.
12. Being married for 7 1/2 years now, he's made me more spontaneous.
13. I think he has a cute rear in a nice pair of jeans.
14. He feels passionately about politics. And sometimes appreciates when I play devil's advocate (sometimes he doesn't think it's as funny as I do).
15. His shoulders are perfect for snuggling, nice and strong.
16. He loves the Grand Canyon, and has hiked down and back twice, in addition to all the day hikes and running around he did when he worked at Jacob Lake Inn at the North Rim.
17. He is sometimes a fatalist.
18. He would use my deodorant, but he has his own bottle nowdays, so that has stopped.
19. He knows how to put out a fire properly, and is meticulous about doing so, since his dad was a forest ranger and smoke jumper.
20. He is kind of a nerd when it comes to air force jets. If he became a groupie for something, that would be it.
21. He can be a very silly and playful daddy.
22. He's read Lord of the Rings several times, in English and Spanish.
23. He can sleep pretty much anytime and anywhere.
24. He is good at talking to people, (see #9) whereas I have to think of things to say to new people, he can talk effortlessly with anyone.
25. He always tries to get me tulips on our anniversary, since he gave me 100 tulips when he proposed.
26. He likes cherry Coke.
27. He taught religion classes in Spanish at the Institute at UNLV for about 2 years.
28. When he had a really big trial that could have really tested his faith, he drew the gospel closer, which was an important factor in my decision to marry him.
29. He appreciates my parents, which is good considering that they live with us!
30. He is a fairly decent shot and likes to go shooting.
31. He is going to be a great respiratory therapist, because he is compassionate.
32. He is smarter than he gives himself credit for.
33. He has fabulous eyelashes, and passed them on to Michael.
34. He likes to scuba dive.
35. He once work a red fro wig on a regular basis (ask me later).
Happy Birthday Mark, aka NFFM!

Happy belated Birthday Mark... the thing I love most about Mark is that he makes Rachel happy! He is a good guy too, and a good dad... you can tell when he plays/interacts with them. You got a great guy, but you know that.
