First Fish!

So I never got around to blogging about our jaunt up to Cedar City last month to visit my friend from BYU, Melissa and her family. Often times when I need to get out of town we like to head to St George, but since Melissa is in Cedar City we figure why not just drive the extra 30 minutes and go see them?
We drove up on a Friday night and back home Saturday night but it was such fun. Melissa always makes me laugh, and she doesn't mind adding my two crazy boys to her 3 kiddos for full on chaos! We stayed up late talking, laughing, and eating. We intended to all be up and ready early to go see the hot air balloon festival, but their guest room was so dark and cozy that my little family slept in too late so we missed most of that, but we still went to the park and had the kids do some of the jumping stuff.
As you can see, here is Jacob mid-air...

We came back to their house and the kids played and took naps and then in the afternoon we headed up to Cedar Breaks for a little sight seeing...

It was sprinkling when we got there and we got back to the cars just as it was turning into a full on hail storm and then slush storm! Our desert acclimated bodies were cold but in a good way, invigorating with fresh air. Can't describe how it seemed to awaken me.
But the best part was spending the next few hours at their ward dutch oven dinner and taking the boys fishing out in the sprinkling rain. Felt right, this is the stuff that Mark and I are made of, what we grew up on...
Here is Melissa, her sweet and beautiful Eliza and Michael, waiting on a bite...

Jacob with his worm, the kid loved playing with them...

I love this picture of Mark and Michael...

But wait, what do I see?

A FISH!

The proud Howard men with their first fish!

Thanks a million to Melissa for the memories. We will definitely be headed your way after the first snowfall for their first sledding experience!

Rachel come to Boise and you could have that life EVERY DAY. I'm not kidding you would love it here AND there is a desperate need of Speech Pathologist, and respiratory therapist here. I've got a great recruiter for Mark and there is a waiting list for people to see speech pathologists. It's a perfect scenario for you guys. The cost of living is way cheaper too. Just go get some boxes at Lowe's and come on up. See ya soon. :0)
